I like army shooters (shut up brad)

I don't like playing them online

I like the single player of these army shooters

Medal of Honor was beaten in 3,5 hours. They worked on this game for 2 years. They let another studio do the multiplayer so they have no excuse. 3,5 hours. 2 years. WHAT.

Did you play it on easy mode?  What if you play on a different level of difficulty? (I almost typed dufficulty ahahah)

play it on ultimate 666 difficulty, all men play on ten

but ya i enjoy single player as much as multiplayer sometimes, I was actually as excited for the campaign for sc2 as the multiplayer (too bad it seemed like it was written by 12 year olds), and I will be equally as excited for warcraft 4 (if it is ever made). First person shooters online seem like such an incredibly boring thing to do. There's no strategy, no cranial process that goes into it. You just run around frantically and shoot a lot and try not to get shot yourself. It's basically just muscle memory that allows you to get better at it. With an rts you have to actually develop a strategy and practice it, not just spam grenades or spray bullets every which way

well, disagreed. RTS games are the exact same as FPS. No one uses strategy, it's also just muscle memory. Whoever builds his barracks the fastest and spams the most units the quickest wins. Also, most people follow the exact same strategies online. It's either a reaper rush or a zergling rush or a <insert stupid word here>. It's not strategy, it's just who can execute a certain attack template the quickest.

not necessarily, there is a lot more to do with it, not just shooting at people. There are counters to rushes as well, any player who isn't a complete noob can figure out that. Starcraft is pretty bad for OMG RUSH MASS UNITS but there are some better ones (wc3 of course)

See? Standard templates. "oh boy he's using attack X, I better prepare defense Y then" and then you press 8389234 buttons in 1 minute to counter attack pattern X.

It's probably not that much different from real life strategy (there's protocol for everything), but then again shooting the other guy before he can shoot you because your reflexes are better honed and running from cover to cover isn't much different from real life shootouts.

well ya exactly, that's what life in general is like. You gain experiences throughout your life which better equips you to deal with problems. A real life general would probably react the same way

That's dumb.

I guess that's true to some extent.  That's why fighting games are the best multiplayer games.  They're all about mind games.

It depends on the way you and your opponent(s) play(s).  If players are tactical, then yeah, it's all about who could jack off the fastest, and he who jizzes first wins.

But playing with tactics are dumb.  Ever player a "tourney fag" in Smash Bros.?  They do the quickest and cheapest tactics.  But a lot are easily countered if you actually pay attention and play with your mind and not your dick.

I feel like it takes more of a creative/resourceful mind to play an rts than an fps. An fps takes much quicker reflexes though. I dunno

four

Dude! I feel you on this one.

It seems like first person shooters now are just too much for multiplayer. I couldn't stand playing any CoD game online (cept the original, dunno why) due to all these no life people who just seriously PLAY AND PLAY AND PLAY AND PLAY and then know every single thing, every layout of every map, etc.

It's just not fun to play that shit online anymore. They've made it almost impossible for a casual gamer to actually smurfing enjoy the online experience.

My biggest complaint is how every FPS now has levels, that unlock new...stronger "perks" and weaponry. Now, the guy who is lvl 30 (out of 41), has prolly either put in some serious time, is really damn good, or both. So, he knows the mechanics of the gameplay fairly well and now he has a crazy gun that just kills everything.

And I've busted my ass to get to lvl 7 and I still have dick for perks and weapons and I just get raped repeatedly. It sucks.

ON that point, in a certain game I'm playing...there is a weapon you can't unlock no matter what you do in the game. You literally have to smurfing buy it with REAL MONEY to use, in game. smurf that shit, it's shit like that that pisses me off. Grinds my gears if you will.

I want and engrossing single player campaign with the option for co-op (and have the damn second player acknowledged in game). I like PvP but there just has to be a balance of fun, competition, and...well...balance.

Duffie, by the way...the new Warhammer40k game is off da hizzzook. You'll dig the hell out of the single player. You health power up, is to execute the enemies of the Imperium.

yeah I recently finished Space Marine, I actually bought it for pc

also even the multiplayer of that game is fairly fun, there's levels and perks and weapons for the high level players but you can still get smurfing killed by a level 1 player because, well, he's a smurfing space marine too

I actually play multiplayer shooters, like a lot. It brings out a longer replay value of a game for me. Granted thats not all I play though since I played the shit out of Fallout 3 (about 5-6 playthroughs from my count), but still playing Call of Duty multiplayer still gets my rocks off.
